I am leaving for Ireland in nine days. This past week I've been researching the state of Ireland's economy, education system, and politics. For such a small country there seems to be a lot of turmoil. Its no wonder the youth are so troubled and the church is in desperate need.
The opportunity to visit God's people in such a time of need is truly putting me in my place. I know how unworthy I am to experience His glory. But knowing that and experiencing it are two completely different things. I'm quite certain it won't take long before I am humbled and broken before the Lord on this adventure. What do I have to offer? I don't think I have very much. Once its all dished out, the rest is up to Jesus.
Even now, I'm expecting Him to come through and raise the rest of my funds before I go. I would be lying if I said I'm not nervous. The truth is, I know God as my provider, but I've never asked for Him to provide in such a way before. Its always come too easy. Praise the Lord He takes care of those who walk in His ways.
To give a quick update: I still need to raise $975.
There are a few things I'm doing to help supplement this cost
-Finnagin's Father is hosting a benefit show for me Friday, June 24th at the Daily Grind Coffee Shop. I will be recording them live and producing a CD for them to distribute. Half of the cost of the CD will be donated to my trip.
-My parent's church is hosting a yard sale Saturday, June 25th. Several people, including my sister's employers and employees, have donated items to sell. Thanks everyone for the prompt response!
-I'm selling my iMac G5ย and anย MXL 990 Condenser Microphone. If you know anyone who may be interested in these items, please get them in contact with me!
-I've also sent out a handful of support letters to friends and family. I expect everyone to be receiving them either tomorrow or Wednesday.
Pray for the saints to go!
